WHAT IT IS
The Keswick Convention is an annual celebration for Christians of all denominations. It is a demonstration of the scripture upon which the Conventions have always been grounded: “All one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28), inviting Christians to gather together for worship in song, praise, study and renewal in the unity and spirit of Christ. It is organized by The Keswick Council, a team of twelve, ministers and lay people, from the various Christian denominations within Halifax Metro.
The Metro Keswick Convention is the Nova Scotian expression of the founding UK Keswick Convention in the English Lake District, an event attended by thousands each year over a three week period in July and August. Keswick Conventions are international.
WHO’S IT FOR
Everyone! We have Child Care for infants to six years old, morning and evening. We have plenty of parking spaces. We have prayer and counseling services with any of the Keswick Council members. Feel free to approach them anytime.
WHY WE DO IT
Because we need to get together. There are few solitary Christians, and in the world in which we live it is good to come together as a fellowship of believers, to encourage one another, and to rejoice in the Lord. We wholeheartedly believe we both release and focus the power of the Holy Spirit in such a celebration as this, and we pray you may find it enriching and transforming. We warmly invite you to join us.
One half hour before both morning and evening services, we always have a time of prayer in a prayer room set aside. Jesus said ‘without me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5) and we affirm our total dependence on his power and presence during every convention.
HOW MANY IS THIS?
The 2025 Keswick is our 46th!
We are delighted to have as our 2025 Convention speaker, Martin Salter, lead pastor at Grace Community Church in Kempston.
We invite you to come learn from his teaching and to worship with us. There is no charge (although an opportunity to make a free-will offering is always given to help cover the convention costs), and there is no need to register. We simply invite you to be refreshed throughout the week, morning or evening.
